2nd Singapore SpoChan Tournament

"I am pleased to announce that on the 11th of August 2007, Takushin Kan (Singapore) took part in the 2nd Singapore Sports Chanbara Tournament, held at the SPANS-JOM Clubhouse. In total, the medal tally was 6 Golds, 2 Silvers and 9 Bronzes, garnered in Kihon, Kodachi, Choken, Nito and Ishu (mix weapons) categories.

I would like to once again thank and congratulate all our members who have supported and participated in the tournament, to all members and friends for their hard work and perseverance in making Takushin Kan (Singapore) the Grand Champion of 2007 yet again."

2nd Asia-Oceania SpoChan Championships

On the 12th of August 2007, 9 of our members took part in the 2nd Asia-Oceania Sports Chanbara Tournament, held here at the Police JOM clubhouse, representing Singapore’s Takushin Kan dojo. Team S'pore clinched overall 3rd for the Team Event, with Chief Instructor Sam representing the national team for Kodachi. All in all, the tournament saw representatives from Japan, Korea, Nepal, New Caledonia, Australia, Malaysia and Indonesia. In total, the medal tally was 1 Gold, 2 Silvers and 6 Bronzes, garnered in Kihon, Kodachi, Choken, Nito and Ishu (mix weapons) categories. Once again, many heartfelt thanks to Shirai Sensei for his tutelage and guidance, and going the distance with us, on our learning journey.
