Shirai Sensei
 

Takushin Kan Dojo (Japan) is headed by its founder Shirai Masaru Shihan (10th Dan), who is also the vice-president of the International Sports Chanbara Association (ISCA). Currently a retired aircraft engineer, Shirai sensei is also a high ranking teacher in Battodo, Kendo, Juken (bayonet fighting) and Iaido.

Shirai sensei has over 20 years of experience in teaching Sports Chanbara. He specializes in Kihon dosa (basic and advance kata), Tanto (dagger), Kodachi (short sword), Choken (long sword), Yari (spear) and Nito (double sword). Shirai sensei travels regularly around Japan and overseas, conducting seminars and overseeing local and overseas tournaments.

Shirai sensei has in total, 9 branch dojos bearing his school’s name, of which we are the first situated outside of Japan. The Singapore branch was established on the 6th of November 2004. Takushin Kan (Singapore) currently conducts trainings at the Clementi Japanese Primary School, Nee Soon South CC and Punggol CC.
